SUNRISE, Fla. Nike Air Max 97 Silver Bullet Kaufen . -- Martin St. Louis and the Tampa Bay Lightning have remained on a roll even without star Steven Stamkos. St. Louis had a goal and two assists and the Tampa Bay Lightning extended their winning streak to five games with a 6-1 victory over the Florida Panthers on Monday. St. Louis had an assist on Tyler Johnsons tap-in goal off a wide shot off the boards by Victor Hedman and added another on Valtteri Filppulas power-play goal less than five minutes later for a 3-1 Lightning lead. St. Louis scored his 16th goal of the season when his batted shot eluded Florida goaltender Scott Clemmensen for a 4-1 advantage after two periods. "When (Steven Stamkos) went down, we had that sense of shock, but won some games. Then reality set in. It set in when we went out West," Tampa Bay coach Jon Cooper said. "Marty went into a little bit of a funk at that time when Stammer was gone. I dont think weve had a better player on our team in the last eight games than (Marty). Hes the captain and hes led the way for us. "Marty has clearly put the team on his back of late." Alex Killorn tied the game for Tampa Bay 19 seconds after Sean Bergenheim gave Florida a 1-0 lead on a power-play goal past Lightning goalie Ben Bishop. "Marty was huge. He opened up the floodgates and made some great plays and scored a pretty nice goal, too," Killorn said. "Hes obviously a leader on our team and we look to him for strong play. He came up huge in the second and everyone kind of followed his lead." The Lightning are 10-2-2 in games when St. Louis has appeared on the scoresheet since Stamkos broke his leg on Nov. 11. "I feel good out there adjusting to new linemates," said St. Louis, who is on a five-game point streak. "Its been fun. The young guys have a lot of energy. When youre winning and contributing, thats a fun feeling. "I definitely took it as a challenge and want to deliver." In his first full season behind the Lightning bench, Cooper has watched his club jump out to a quick start and hold a strong 23-11-3 record despite having Stamkos sidelined. Cooper said the key to beating the Panthers by five goals -- they also beat them 7-2 in the Tampa Bay Times Forum on Oct. 10 -- was the quick answer after the Panthers took the early lead. "It wasnt so much the second (period), it was the answer after they scored. We had a couple of really good penalty kills and made an unfortunate error that ended up in the back of our net. A big turning point for us was scoring on the next shift," Cooper said. "We went into the room 1-1 and we came out flying. It helped to get the 5-on-3. We smelled it. The boys got after it. "Were riding some momentum going into Christmas." Florida coach Peter Horachek was disappointed in his teams effort, especially returning home after going 3-1 on a tough road swing through Canada with wins over Montreal, Toronto and Ottawa. "The guys didnt really have a lot of push-back. It was probably the worst game since Ive been here for sure," the interim coach said. Browns owner Jimmy Haslam announced the move with Young on Monday during a speech at a Pro Football Hall of Fame luncheon.MIAMI - Now a full-time spectator for the rest of the season, Miami Marlins ace Jose Fernandez sat quietly behind the dugout railing Thursday as his team lost 6-1 to the Atlanta Braves. He didnt lead cheers, help the bat boy or lobby to pinch-run. He merely sat and watched. The new Jose? Maybe. Manager Mike Redmond wants the rookie right-hander to tone down his exuberant behaviour, and says the Atlanta Braves had a legitimate grievance with the rookies behaviour, which led to a bench-clearing confrontation during his final start of the season Wednesday. The Braves were unhappy Fernandez stood at home plate admiring his home run, then spat toward the Braves Chris Johnson while rounding third base. The Braves also were annoyed Fernandez reacted with a cocky grin when he gave up a homer to Evan Gattis, then stared toward the Braves bench at the end of the inning. Redmond sided with the Braves. "Jose is an emotional guy," Redmond said Thursday. "Thats part of his game that is going to improve. We dont want to take the having fun aspect away from him. Thats what makes him him. But at the same time, I think maybe he can centre that a little bit. ... That might be a part of his game he needs to look at, and maybe try to do something different." After the game, Fernandez apologized for his behaviour. Lost in the furor was another fine outing by the All-Star right-hander in his final start of the year. He allowed one run in seven innings Wednesday to help Miami win 5-2. The 21-year-old Fernandez finished the year 12-6 with a 2.19 ERA, the second-lowest in the majors behind only the Dodgers Clayton Kershaw. He struck out 187 in 172 2-3 innings, and wont pitch again because the Marlins set a 170-inning limit for him this year. "Hes going to be one of the top pitchers in this league for a long time," Redmond said. "But you want your players to be judged for the way they compete, not for the theatrics." Fernandez has been demonstrative all season. Hes quick to lead cheers in the dugout or strike up a conversation with an opposing player. When he stepped to thhe plate to bat for the first time Wednesday, he greeted Braves catcher Brian McCann with a handshake. Air Max 720 Günstig Kaufen. But his demeanour has sometimes rubbed opponents the wrong way, and the Braves were particularly miffed by his showboating after his first major league homer. As he crossed the plate, McCann scolded him for the display, which led both benches and bullpens to clear. While Fernandez is popular with his teammates, the consensus in the Marlins clubhouse was that he had gone too far. "Jose is a great pitcher, he is very competitive, but he let this one get out of hand," closer Steve Cishek said. "Hes going to learn from it. I can pretty much guarantee it will never happen again, the way he is. Hes a good kid." Atlanta manager Fredi Gonzalez attributed Fernandezs behaviour to immaturity. "Hes a playful guy," Gonzalez said. "He likes to have fun on the mound, and we like to have fun, too. If hes going to play that way, which is fine, he shouldnt get upset when we hit a home run and have fun ourselves." After the game, a chastened Fernandez said he had gotten carried away amid the emotions of his final game. He sought out McCann and Braves pitcher Mike Minor and apologized to them. "I thought the way he handled it was perfect," Redmond said. "And were moving on. It was a learning experience. Unfortunately what gets overshadowed is the year he has had, and how great he has been. We should be talking about him for Rookie of the Year instead." In the aftermath of the episode, Redmond drew from criticism from some baseball pundits for not supporting his player. "If youre only watching two clips of that game, I could see how they could say whatever," Redmond said. "But if youre around here and in this clubhouse every day ... Were a young team. Were 30-some games under .500. Were teaching guys to respect the game and play the game the right way. I think its a teaching moment for Josie. And he understands where Im coming from." ___ Follow Steven Wine on Twitter: http://twitter.com/Steve_Wine ' ' '
